After a successful global launch on Xbox Series S | X and PC, Koch Media announced its intention to propose the game of psychological horror The Medium on PS5 in September. The most ambitious title of Bloober Team to date tells the history of the holder medium, Marianne, a young woman who can perceive and interact with the world of spirits and its inhabitants. His quest to find the origin of his powers takes him to an empty Polish hotel, where she soon discovers a straight mystery out of a nightmare. If she wants to survive, she must pierce a dark secret and find a way to face the mouth, an entity born of an unspeakable tragedy, before the monsters who live here do not devour it. The oppressive atmosphere of the new generation dual-reality gameplay was very welcome and The Medium recovered its development costs months ago, so it is not really surprising that a PS5 port was announced in the form of this elegant trailer. The video summarizes the premises of the game and shows some of the distinctions it has received.
The PS5 version will take full advantage of the console material and the Dualsense controller to create a more immersive atmosphere than ever. A special edition entitled The Medium: Two Worlds Special Launch Edition will also be available in some territories. This collector edition will be accompanied by an exclusive steelbook, a copy of the soundtrack of Silent Hill Akira Yamoka's composer and Arkadiusz Reikowski from Bloober Team, and an artbook of 32 pages with rigid coverage.
If we are lucky, the PS5 version will have improved graphics compared to the original Xbox version, but even if it is not the case, the addition of dualsense support should help make a scary game even more scary. The medium has been described as a masterpiece of mature horror and we are happy to see it make a way on other platforms.
The medium is now available for PC and Xbox Series S | X. It will be available on PS5 on September 3, 2021.
